Quick answer
Choose the DDH-01 Blank Option Head if you want the lower-priced blank base for a Dollfie Dream face-up project. Choose the DDH-28 Blank Option Head if its specific sculpt and available eyehole or color options match the look you have in mind. Both are blank option heads intended for custom makeup.
What the catalog tells you about each head
The DDH-01 Blank Option Head is listed at USD 33.39, while the DDH-28 Blank Option Head is listed at USD 33.92. Both show a comparison price of USD 53.00, so the price difference between them is small. The catalog describes both as blank option heads for custom makeup and mentions a Makeup Design Sheet for simulating a look.
The catalog lists available option types as Eyehole Type and Color for both heads. It does not provide sculpt dimensions, eye sizes, skin tone names, or head circumference. Treat those as unknowns until you check the product page or ask the store, because guessing them can lead to a head that does not fit your planned eyes, wig, or body.
Why eyehole type and color are the real decision points
Because both heads share the same option categories, your choice should come down to the specific eyehole type and color offered for each sculpt. Eyehole type affects which eyes you can insert and how the eye opening looks in your face-up. Color affects how your blush, pastel shading, and skin-tone matching will read.
The catalog does not list the exact eyehole or color choices per head, so open each product page and confirm the options before ordering. If you already own a particular eye type or wig color, match that first; the small price gap is secondary.
Decision rules for choosing between DDH-01 and DDH-28
- If you are buying your first blank head for face-up practice: Start with the DDH-01 Blank Option Head because it is the lower-priced blank base, leaving more budget for brushes, sealant, and pastels. Practice heads are easier to justify when the base cost is lower.
- If you already have a specific eyehole type in mind: Check the eyehole options listed for each head and choose the one that matches your planned eyes. Do not assume both heads offer the same eyehole choices just because the option category is the same. Eyehole compatibility is a hard constraint, not a preference.
- If color matching matters for your character: Compare the available color options for each head against your planned wig and body skin tone. The catalog lists color as an option type but does not name the shades, so verify on the product page. Order a color sample or ask the store if you are matching an existing doll.
- If you are choosing between the two on price alone: The DDH-01 is USD 33.39 and the DDH-28 is USD 33.92, a difference of less than a dollar. At that gap, pick the sculpt and options that fit your project rather than the cheaper listing. A sub-dollar difference should not override fit.
